Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a hot topic in the world of human resources. For example, the EEOC recently issued a draft strategic enforcement plan with specific focus on the use of AI in recruiting. Additionally, Workday, a popular human capital management system, recently came under fire after an applicant claimed companies using Workdayʻs AI screening tool unlawfully discriminated against workers who are Black, disabled, and over 40.
However, the potential pitfalls of relying on AI to make decisions do not mean it is not a valuable tool in other ways.
ChatGPT is one example of an AI tool that has gone viral as people test different use cases such as writing a job application letter, answering various questions, and debugging programming code.
Below are some examples of questions we asked ChatGPT, and what it returned in response.

ChatGPT can also be used to draft internal policies, provide guidance on tricky HR issues, training content, and more. As noted in its own response above though, ChatGPT does not replace the need for human intervention. A human should review the results provided for accuracy and bias, and apply the tool responsibly and ethically.
