The Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Disability Compensation Division (DCD) recently released the 2024 rates for Temporary Disability Insurance, Workers’ Compensation, and Prepaid Health Care. DCD is responsible for overseeing the administration of Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI), Workers’ Compensation (WC), and the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care law (PHC). On December 1, 2023, DCD issued a summary of the 2024 Maximum Weekly Wage Base and Maximum Weekly Benefit Amounts for TDI, WC, and PHC.
Temporary Disability Insurance

Workers’ Compensation
For Workers’ Compensation, the 2024 Maximum Weekly Wage Base is $1,703.91 with a Maximum Weekly Benefit Amount of $1,136.00. Employers can find additional information on WC in Hawaii by visiting DCD’s webpage: About Workers’ Compensation.
Prepaid Health Care
Lastly, the increase in Hawaii’s minimum wage to $14.00 per hour, effective January 1, 2024, has led to a monthly minimum wage for coverage under PHC of $1,214.00. It’s worth noting that the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care law requires that employers provide health care coverage to employees who work 20 hours or more per week.
