  • Years of Service: Hawaii employers continue to see strong employee loyalty. The median length of service is 8 years, well above the national median of 3.9 years. Larger companies reported an average of 11.5 years of service.
  • Recruitment Challenges: More than three-quarters (79.5%) of participants reported difficulty filling entry-level and support roles. Administrative, accounting, and maintenance positions are the hardest to staff. Employers say dependability and integrity are the most desirable traits in new hires.
  • Turnover: More than half (51.7%) of surveyed organizations said entry-level positions experience the highest turnover, particularly in customer service, clerical, and other front-line jobs.
