As I reflect on 2025, one word stands out: together.

Together, you navigated shifting workplace expectations, rapid technological change, a tight labor market, and an evolving regulatory landscape. Through it all, you trusted Hawaiʻi Employers Council to support you with practical guidance, training, and insight—and I’m deeply grateful for that trust.

This year, we stayed focused on a simple belief: when we invest in people, we strengthen Hawaiʻi’s businesses and communities.

We expanded leadership development across levels, launching the inaugural Hawaiʻi Leadership Academy in partnership with Hawaii Business Magazine to support senior leaders and strengthening core programs for supervisors and frontline teams. From supervision fundamentals to customer service and essential skills, our programs helped build confidence, capability, and connection. We also expanded access through ETF-approved offerings and delivered more in-person training on the neighboring islands.

In a complex regulatory environment, our consultants supported thousands of employer questions while translating legislative and enforcement changes into clear, actionable guidance. We continued investing in surveys and data—providing local insights to support informed decisions on pay, benefits, and workforce planning.

HEC also continued to convene and connect Hawaiʻi’s employer community. The Talent Summit and our 82nd Annual Membership Meeting brought leaders together to address disruption, AI, and the future of work. Through HEC Gives Back and our support of Hawaiʻi Foodbank, we saw again how employers lead with heart.

Looking ahead to 2026, our focus is clear: delivering workforce solutions, expertise, and community to help continue to improve work in Hawaiʻi. With expanded training, updated compliance resources, and new leadership capacity, we’re ready for what’s next.
